Approaching the status of “Senior Citizen”, slightly overweight, a little out of shape but still good looking, I find myself working 45 to 50 hours a week even after joining the ranks of the semi-retired in 2005. I started my professional journey thru life back in 1968, about the time of the Vietnam War and the end of the draft in America. I ended my professional career shortly after 911 when a plane crashed into our 79th Floor office in the World Trade Center. It all started when I graduated from college and got my first job as a middle school math teacher in Hallandale Florida and the rest of the story is now history. Even today, I remember driving home after graduation on the Florida Turnpike in my 1968 VW Bug and saying a prayer and wondering how in the world would I ever be able to spend my starting teacher’s salary of $6,400 per year. It sure beat $5.50 per hour working in the gas station and it seemed like a fortune at the time.

In 1986, after many years as a school teacher as well as a self employed insurance professional in South Florida, I moved to NJ where I started my own insurance agency in downtown New York City from an office on the 79th floor of the WORLD TRADE CENTER.

It was in 1987 when I found myself starting over in the insurance business with a young man named Kikis Kyriacou, who not only became my lifelong friend but later became my business partner in the NY Insurance Company. Starting over with nothing in 1987, the insurance brokerage grew into one of the largest specialty insurance programs in New York City and later became known as the Apartment & Property Owners Purchasing Group and the National Association of Property Owners and Real Estate Professionals. I was the founding father of both organizations and maintained a corporate office at One World Trade Center until the tragic day on 911.

From 1968 to the present time, I have maintained an exceptional life long record of professional success in developing long standing personal and business relationships and creating extremely successful niche market companies. As creator and founding father of the Schecher Group, I have truly achieved my American Dream.

In 2009, I focus turned towards helping others seeking their own personal recovery plan in today’s global economic crisis. With several decades of successful experience in business and more specific in real estate management and investing, I have accepted the challenge to teach others my proven “tricks of the trade” with a series of “FREE” educational seminars held at the Hollywood Beach Resort Hotel and the Casablanca Hotel located on Miami Beach.

Yes, both the hotels are in my real estate portfolio, and I can teach you how you can create your own wealth. I will show you the road that leads to financial freedom where your money starts working for you rather than you working for your money.

In February 2010, my company provided the necessary financial support required to create the world’s first multi-million dollar psychic resort located on the North shore of the Dominican Republic. This move represents an exciting challenge for me and something that will become nothing but fun for a lot of other people from around the world.

In July 2010, my company expanded its operations into the Florida Keys with the acquisition of niche estate opportunities and rental properties such as the Lost Pelican Fish Camp. This unique property represents my latest pet project and will soon become a place where you can find me on any given weekend. As a child, I enjoyed the annual fishing trip to the Florida Keys with my Dad and Uncle Freddie. It took me all of two seconds to discover that my latest acquisition on Little Torch Key takes me back in time to the days with my Dad and Uncle Freddie.
